― Jane Austen
when i read this quote for the very first time i was bound to agree with the statemnt...
for me its like an universal truth...
truth that cannot be denied...
from sharing secrets to being crime partners,
from shedding tears together when mom dad scold us to laughing our hearts out at the lamest stuff,
from protecting in blunders to complaining against each other...
they indeed are strange...
bossy but bestie...naughty but nicer...annoying but adorable...
and..simple but strange!!
“How are you feeling, appi?" he always asks me.
"Great," I tell him, and it is purely the truth...
as talking to him always make me become what i actually am...
a care-free, rebellious soul!!
Everything before me suddenly become radiant..all by itself...
i start seeing a better world...
a beautiful world...
and he says. "There's not a thing to be afraid of. I'm here for you aapi. I will be here for you. Today and everyday."
and in the smallest fraction of a second...
I admit..
I am not afraid...I am astonished.....
I had not realized until that moment how real everything is...
the wind, the beat, the feel of having goosebumps and the world...
"I'm here," he says again, and he is here..
Do you know what I feel about you, ? About us?...Amazed, you amaze me. You make me feel things, and want things I never knew I could have...
and then i re-read the quote and again found myself bound to admit,
Yes...we may fight like enemies, pull each other's hair with the urge to rip them off the roots, steal stuff in order to tease...
may accuse each other indiscriminately...
piss each other off with the most hurtful names...
But we can never deny,
neither want to,
that we share the same blood...
and this feeling bound us in an unseen and unbreakable bond...
and bring us closer...
today and everyday!!
